My remix of Daega Sound’s “Fonica” is out now on Crude Recordings. It’s a sort of tribal dubstep technoid dark room rave track. Clips above, press release below. Buy now on Juno for the limited edition 10” vinyl and Beatport for the digital.
This Halloween Vancouver’s Daega Sound will be releasing their new tune Fonica via Crude Records. This release marks the 1 year anniversary of Crude Records and as such Fonica will also be released on a limited-run white label 10″ vinyl. A little more active than Daega Sound’s normal dungeon-esque vibe, Fonica still drives deep and retains the subtle tribalness that has defined Daega’s sound over the years. The flip is a remix from North American Dubstep legend DJG (now more commonly known under his “bass music” moniker Grenier). DJG’s remix turns the tune into a full on tribal roller. While both songs do plenty to give a nod to the greater “bass music” continuum they also reflect upon the rolling, syncopated drum patterns that have become commonplace in UK Dubstep in 2012. Stream both tunes in full below. Fonica will drop on Halloween on all fine digital retailers worldwide.
